@After entering the dungeon, ask if the healer is ready...

OMG This is a valid point and one people should listen too. This afternoon, I had switched back from dps for daily grinding and into my healing form when the LFG tool procced. I went in with 25% mana. Not only did the tank not wait for me to mana all the way to the boss (mind you he was on the squishy side) he also ran off before I had the chance to buff.

My new rule: If you run off without buffs, you aren't getting so don't ask.

I am tired of chasing people down...I want to get it done too but 30 seconds isn't so much of my time.

@If you piss off the healer, you’d better not take any damage at all for the rest of the dungeon. This also includes tanks.

Oh yes. Everyone should take note! <3<3<3

These are excellent tips. Talking to the healer first (and by name, not just "Healer, are you ready?") as the tank establishes a rapport and lets them know that you are conscious of both their existence and their mana. I always ask them to let me know if I'm going too fast or too slow, which also gives them a vested interest in how the pulls are going.

Great post!

Thanks for the comments :)

@Tarinae - I just wish people payed some attention to me when I'm there to heal them. I like healing just as I like tanking, so I don't want to run one dungeon and be discouraged from running more.

@Thoorin - I've never really played a DK or a tank DK, that's why there isn't many mentions of them in the blog at all. Well, something to fix and by looking at things around random blogs I think I even know how. ;)

Oh so true.

Though I guess some differences apply for DKs. My main is a warrtank/warrdps, and I recently started a DK as mining slave... I started with 5/5/5 and went from there into blood - supposedly bad idea for tanking, but... I did a few instances last night. It really feels like stealing sweets from children when I look at recount and see myself as top dps, with ~28% damage done and ~19% healing done, too.
