For the Horde!
So, on Monday I was playing around with Vean a bit – ran around Durotar and the Barrens for an hour or so, farming herbs and ores, and then finally got to Outlands. Playing on the Horde side still scares me a lot – I have almost no reputations, no idea where to go for quests, level 1 skill in two gathering professions, and no discovered areas at all… It’s really strange to see all that at once – and I don’t have the luxury of having high level main to support my leveling.
Oh, and the achievements. The absolute lack of Vean’s achievements, apart from the Collector’s Edition pet one. Hurts my eyes…
Playing on Terokkar wasn’t bad so far (even though I didn’t do a lot of it), apart from the price of DK glyphs on the Auction House, which is absolutely horrendous. Seriously, 30 gold for one glyph? I only got 27g when I finished the intro zone and got ported to Orgrimmar… For a bit, I’ve been seriously considering taking Inscription on my little druid alt there, but I think I’ll just wait with that for now until I really start leveling her. Taking something like Inscription and Leatherworking (haven’t really thought about the second one) wouldn’t be bad for her at the endgame, but I still have a lot of time to decide on that.
And playing a death knight? OMG, so much fun! The early quests in Hellfire Peninsula were so easy compared to my other characters… I didn’t have to drink, CC, choose battles so that I won’t end with more than one or two mobs on me, nothing on that. I’d just go and plow through. I expect that to end when I actually go into Northrend, but I’m going to so love it while it lasts.
On the Alliance side… we finally went to kill Sartharion with a drake up, so we’re doing a bit of progression there. We will try leaving two drakes alive this Sunday – that’s all on 25-man of course, as we want to see it first on the easier mode before we do it the hardcore way with less people (and especially less tanks).
We bashed our heads against Malygos as well yesterday – we couldn’t get enough healers online to do the 25-man version, but we somehow managed to split people into two 10-mans. The group that I was on couldn’t kill him though – we were lacking just a bit of DPS, but I think people learned a lot about the fight, especially the weird third phase. At least I hope so – we all signed that guild rule that we don’t mind wiping for a whole evening (I didn’t btw – we didn’t have it in the rules when I joined the guild, so I guess that I’m okay with being annoyed, the rest is not allowed to do that ;] ), but our spirits weren’t very high at the end.
